nancyNancy Linebarger Ballard ’69

Nancy carried the spirit of the Daughters of Charity in her heart when she created Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo, an organization dedicated to transforming uninspiring spaces into vibrant works of love, compassion and creativity. RTR4C brings the comfort of beauty and peace to patients receiving chemotherapy treatments. Since RTR4C’s inception, it has revamped 15 chemotherapy treatment facilities that serve nearly 800,000 patients each year. Nancy shares, “Many cancer patients spend long and painful hours in chemotherapy rooms … The difference between a dull, gray, tech-oriented room and one painted with uplifting colors, gentle lighting and thoughtful details can be profound.”

martyMarty Lombardi ’65

Marty retired from his banking career in 2013 as Senior Vice President at Savings Bank of Mendocino. Today, Marty is known in his local community as a role model, and is often referred to as The Connector for his ability to bring people together to execute vital community projects; Mr. Ukiah for his tireless dedication to his local community; and The Cookie Man for his reputation as a high school mentor who treats his students to chocolate cookies. A fellow community member described Marty’s commitment best, “If volunteer service came with frequent flyer miles, Lombardi would have a round-trip ticket to the moon!”
