The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a community of marketing and business development professionals working to advance industry best practices and develop business relationships with their A/E/C companies.
SMPS is excited to support Rooms that Rock 4 Chemo this year as our annual charity for the 2017-2018 term. The Rooms that Rock 4 Chemo (RTR4C) mission embodies a compassionate spirit as it mobilizes artists, designers, and volunteers-like those in SMPS-to transform chemotherapy treatment facilities into vibrant and restorative places of healing. Regardless of income, geography, background and circumstance, RTR4C envisions a world where all have access to inspiring and hopeful chemotherapy treatment facilities. Nancy Ballard, Founder and Artist, created RTR4C after visiting a doctor’s office when she had, by chance, a botanical painting tucked under her arm. Her doctor wished out loud that his drab chemo room could be enhanced with livelier artwork. From there, Nancy reached out to 20 local interior designers for their professional aid. Within three days, six designers had reacted enthusiastically, volunteering their time and creative efforts for what became the first Project. Visit RTR4C for more information.

Rebuilding Together: Participate in an AEC-Focused Resource Questionnaire for North Bay Fire Relief
As a Chapter, we have turned inward to look at the ways we can ALL be a part of the rebuilding effort currently taking place in the North Bay Communities of Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Lake and Mendocino counties (spoiler alert: this is in fact, the theme of our Q4 Shortlist!) Many members have asked, “How can I/my firm help?” While we recognize many different efforts taking place, as a professional services marketing organization, we can pack a one-two-punch to assist our members and the community-at-large who have been affected in a strategic way.
SMPS Gives Back is assembling a resource directory of AEC firms that are committed to using their specific skills they use on projects daily to assist North Bay Residents, business owners, education institutions, and local organizations as we focus on rebuilding both community and morale. Please take a moment to think about what you or your firm can do to give back, complete our brief questionnaire to let’s come together as a chapter to support efforts that are currently taking place in the North Bay.
